Peter Meringolo is the Chief General Counsel at Catholic Charities CYO of the Archdiocese of San Francisco, where he oversees the legal affairs of one of the largest non-profit organizations in the Bay Area, providing strategic advice and guidance on a range of issues, such as HR, contracts, litigation, and risk management. He is passionate about serving the community and advancing the mission of Catholic Charities, which is to protect the dignity and well-being of the most vulnerable and marginalized populations.

Peter graduated from the University of Notre Dame and the University of California, Hastings College of the Law, and holds a Certificate of Theological Studies from the Dominican School of Philosophy & Theology (the “DSPT”).

Peter began his career in international law firms before starting his own law firm in 2015. Peter represents businesses, entrepreneurs, and executives in cases throughout California in a wide variety of business and insurance coverage disputes. He has also advocated for homeowners who suffered devastating losses in the California wildfires; he volunteers as a small claims court judge; and has performed pro bono legal services to help veterans obtain compensation benefits and immigrants to obtain asylum.

Peter has chaired the Parent Advisory Board and served on the Parish Council at St. Hilary in Tiburon, California. Before that, Peter served on the board of managers of the Embarcadero YMCA in San Francisco, where he chaired the Community Programs Committee and led the Youth Chance High School Advisory Committee. Presently, Peter serves on the Board of Trustees of the DSPT, where he chaired both the Board and the Advancement Committee.
