Marjorie “Marjie” Calvert worked in the investment and employee benefit service industries, founding her own consulting firm in Dallas, Texas. After marriage, she relocated her business to the East Coast. While living in New Canaan, Connecticut, Marjie became involved with many community, church, and school boards and projects including St. Luke’s LifeWorks, the Junior League, Norwalk Community College, New Canaan Congregational Church, and City Seminary of New York. She was a partner in Golden Fish, Inc., a Christian bookstore in New Canaan.
Marjie and her husband Bruce share an enduring interest in education. They support scholarships at several inner city schools and universities. With a passion for gardening, horticulture and landscape design, Marjie participates in two garden clubs affiliated with the Garden Club of America. Currently, she also volunteers in two historic gardens in Georgetown.
Born in Arkansas and raised in Oklahoma, Marjie graduated from the University of Oklahoma with a BS in Mathematics and earned an MBA in Finance from North Texas State University. She resides in Washington, D.C.
